its my armour, uniform, ID, shield, voice, menifestication of my imaan, conviction, portrayal of my conviction and so forth.
in our early years of live it was imposed on us sisters to observe it. We know have chosen to wear our abaya/hijab out of our free will! and we/parents have never made a decision better than this for our well being
Assalamualaikum. Last may, I went to China, and the funniest thing happened. I'm a guy, and the group i went to China wore the hijab (aka the tudung dalam bahasa ibunda ku). So, my friend, this girl who wore the hijab, was stared at like everywhere.
I'm telling ya, after a while I got scared of the attention my friend got. The funniest thing happened when someone wanted to take a photo with us. They asked us if they could take a photo with us, and it was surreal. I mean, it's not everyday people treat you like a star right?
Then I realised how much courage it took for women outside countries like mine, to wear the hijab. I don't know about other people, but that was a really weird experience for me, and I wasn't the one wearing the hijab!!!
