One aspect of LivingHalal is to appreciate Allah's provisions and not to waste.
If you cook regularly, you can save money by implementing some of these tips:
· Use the kettle to boil water for cooking, instead of heating a pan on the stove. Not only will this be more efficient, but it generally takes less time too
· Covering cooking pans while cooking to prevent heat loss
· Covering the cooker hob with the pan base, if you can see some hob, you're wasting energy
· Use less liquid, things cook quicker that way
· Reheating left-overs in the microwave or on a hob, not in the oven
· Use a pressure cooker if you have one
· Cook 'one pot' meals like stews or soups
This is a recipe from Grassroot Organic Restaurant.
Here is a great organic and raw recipe that our customers love and it is
very good for you. We call it "the ultimate green massage."
- Cut the vein out of a head of Lacinato Kale
- Cut the kale horizontally in thin slices and place in a bowl
- Drizzle extra virign olive oil on top, just enough to lightly coat the kale
- Add a pinch of celtic sea salt and massage the kale until it wilts...about two minutes should be enough
- Add the juice of half a lime up to about 1 lime, to taste
- Add about 1-2 table spoons of raw agave nectar and mix again lightly
This is a comment from a sister. It's mainly addressed to the brothers :)
